Can I take Dexamphetamine to Egypt?
According to Egyptian Ministry of Health and Population / Egyptian Drug Authority (EDA), Dexamphetamine (dexamfetamine, sold as Dexedrine) may not be permitted in Egypt, even with a prescription. Amphetamine and dexamfetamine (Adderall's active ingredients) are in Schedule 1, Part 1(B), group 12 'Phenethylamine' of the schedules to Egypt's Law 182 of 1960 (Decision 44 of 2026, restated by Decision 242 of 2026). The Ministry of Health's traveller guideline says Schedule 1 medicines cannot be carried into Egypt, even with a valid foreign prescription. Treat it as a ban and confirm with the Egyptian embassy in writing before you travel.
