This is a real trip pack
It was generated for an example trip: Amsterdam, then Copenhagen, with a Seoul layover, carrying Ritalin and Vyvanse for 90 days. A purchased pack is built the same way, but for your own medications, your own stops and your own travel date. Build yours from the itinerary checker.
Ready Set Rove Passport, Trip Pack
Your paperwork, in the order it has to happen
Carrying: Vyvanse (lisdexamfetamine); Ritalin, Concerta (methylphenidate).
What has to happen, and by when
Counted back from your departure. The dates include margin for a reply, not just the minimum lead time each authority publishes.
Leaving, and returning to, Australia
Australia is a Schedule 8 (controlled drug) jurisdiction for methylphenidate, dexamphetamine and lisdexamfetamine. Entering Australia, the 'traveller's exemption' lets you carry up to 3 months' supply for personal use or for an immediate family member travelling with you, with a valid prescription OR a doctor's letter stating the medicine name and dosage, medication in original packaging with dispensing label intact, and mandatory declaration to Australian Border Force on arrival. No prior permit is needed within the exemption. Leaving Australia is a different rule: no export cap for a personal supply is published. The ODC recommends following the same advice, and the TGA tells travellers to take enough for the whole trip. What does constrain the outbound leg is PBS subsidy rules, not a quantity limit. Import permits/licences (issued by ODC) are only for commercial quantities, not individual travellers - if you need more than 3 months' supply on arrival you should see an Australian-registered prescriber for a local script.
- valid prescription
- OR a doctor's letter specifying medicine name and dosage
- medication in original packaging with dispensing label
Your doctor's letter
This is what your letter looks like, filled in with your own medications and itinerary. Build your trip pack to get a clean copy without the sample watermark.
To whom it may concern: customs, border and health authorities,
My patient, (date of birth , passport number ), is under my care for attention deficit hyperactivity disorder and is prescribed the medication set out below. The medication is required for the duration of their travel commencing 30 Oct 2026, and is carried in original dispensed packaging bearing the patient's name.
This medication is prescribed for the patient's personal therapeutic use and the quantity carried reflects the duration of travel. Their itinerary, and the days' supply held on arrival at each border, is set out below.
I can be contacted at the practice on the number above for verification of this letter.
This is a template, and your prescriber decides the final wording and what they are willing to sign. Some countries additionally require this letter, or a separate certificate, to be endorsed by a government health authority; each stop above says so where that applies.
Stop 01:Korea South
Airside transit: Korea answers this directly: if you are only connecting and do not go through immigration, you do not need a bring-in permit. The test is whether you clear immigration, not how long you are on the ground. If you clear immigration: If you clear immigration, even for a stopover, you need the permit, applied for at least 10 working days ahead. Changing airports, for example Incheon to Gimpo, means clearing immigration, so the permit is required.

- Lisdexamfetamine (Vyvanse, Elvanse)max 30 days' supply
The Article 75 and CAK route is open to Dutch and Schengen-insured residents travelling out, so it is not available to you as a visiting traveller. Official Dutch data submitted to the INCB shows the requirement is a prescription plus a doctor's certificate with a 30-day quantity cap, and that this applies to international travellers. The Netherlands does not name lisdexamfetamine separately, but as a Schedule II psychotropic under the Opium Act it follows the same rule. Arrange the declaration in your own country before you travel, and ask your own doctor or pharmacy which one you need.
You are carrying 90 days' supply, but Netherlands caps Lisdexamfetamine (Vyvanse, Elvanse) at 30 days (30-day Schengen cap, extendable to 90 days with additional CAK forms/certificates (not separately named, inferred to follow same regime)). Splitting the supply or a local prescription is worth raising with your prescriber.
- Methylphenidate (Ritalin, Concerta, Medikinet)max 30 days' supply
A Schengen declaration on its own is not enough if you are travelling from outside the Schengen area, and you cannot obtain the Dutch one: the CAK form has to be signed by a doctor with a Dutch BIG number. Official Dutch data submitted to the INCB shows the requirement is a prescription plus a doctor's certificate, with a 30-day quantity cap, and that this applies to international travellers generally. The same Opium Act rules cover methylphenidate in every release form (Ritalin, Concerta, Medikinet). Arrange the declaration in your own country before you travel.
You are carrying 90 days' supply, but Netherlands caps Methylphenidate (Ritalin, Concerta, Medikinet) at 30 days (30-day Schengen cap, extendable to 90 days with additional CAK forms/certificates). Splitting the supply or a local prescription is worth raising with your prescriber.
Carry these through this border
valid prescription
doctor's certificate endorsed by the health authorities of the country of residence
a declaration arranged in your own country before you travel. Which one you need depends on where you fly from, so ask your own doctor or pharmacy. The CAK Schengen medicijnverklaring is not it: that is for travel out of the Netherlands within the Schengen area and needs a doctor with a Dutch BIG number.
Other controlled medicines
Quantity 30 days. The extension to 90 days is a Schengen instrument and is not open to a non-Schengen arrival.
Permit not required. No Dutch permit exists for an arriving traveller. A declaration is required and you arrange it at home; ask your own doctor or pharmacy which one, and your own country's authorities whether it has to be legalised. The CAK Schengenverklaring is the outbound Dutch instrument and needs a doctor with a Dutch BIG number, so a visitor cannot obtain it.
Benzodiazepines and sleep medicines follow the same rules shown above for stimulant (psychotropic-class) medicines.
Leaving Netherlands
Netherlands publishes a different rule for taking these medicines out than for bringing them in. Only the differences are here; anything not listed matches the arrival rules above.

No permit application needed here for the medication you are carrying. Denmark publishes application forms, but not for the medication you selected.
- Lisdexamfetamine (Vyvanse, Elvanse)max 30 days' supply
No Denmark-specific carve-out found; Vyvanse/Elvanse likely follows the same Schengen Certificate framework as other ADHD stimulants.
You are carrying 90 days' supply, but Denmark caps Lisdexamfetamine (Vyvanse, Elvanse) at 30 days (Blanket 30-day supply cap stated for ADHD stimulants generally; Schengen certificate framework applies). Splitting the supply or a local prescription is worth raising with your prescriber.
- Methylphenidate (Ritalin, Concerta, Medikinet)max 30 days' supply
Methylphenidate is List B (entry B327 in the Agency's comprehensive list) and covered by the same 30-day, prescription-only traveller allowance confirmed on the Agency's 'Medicines imported from abroad' page; no Danish permit is needed for a standard supply. Ritalin/Concerta/Medikinet legal with prescription; standard Schengen Certificate framework likely applies for cross-border travel within the Schengen area.
You are carrying 90 days' supply, but Denmark caps Methylphenidate (Ritalin, Concerta, Medikinet) at 30 days (List B narcotic; same 30-day prescription-only traveller allowance). Splitting the supply or a local prescription is worth raising with your prescriber.

Other controlled medicines
Quantity 30 days. 30 days' supply for Schedule B–E euphoriant substances

Benzodiazepines and sleep medicines follow the same rules shown above for stimulant (psychotropic-class) medicines.
This pack gathers publicly available government information current at the time it was generated. It is not a permit, and it is not legal or medical advice. What your prescriber signs is their decision, and what is permitted at a border is decided by that country's officials on the day. Rules change and enforcement varies, so confirm every requirement with the official links above or the embassy before you travel. Keep this page's link so you can come back to your pack.
