The rules for Dexamphetamine (dexamfetamine, sold as Dexedrine)

Amphetamine and dexamfetamine are dangerous drugs under Schedule 1 of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952. Import is prohibited except under a licence from the Minister for Health (section 5), which is designed for practitioners and pharmacists; a traveller would have to apply as a fit and proper person. Without it the medicine may be seized. No form or processing time is published. Declare it on arrival.

What to do

  1. import licence from the Minister for Health (Dangerous Drugs Act 1952, section 5)
  2. prescription
  3. doctor's letter outlining condition and medicine
  4. medication in original containers
  5. declaration on arrival
