AndorraTravelling with ADHD medication: rules, permits and documents
EuropeLast checked 20 Jul 2026Low confidence: check with the embassyHow we rate a record
Andorra treats these medications differently. Of the 7 we track, 4 have no published rule we could find and 3 need only your prescription.
Serious penalties: Andorra publishes no rule at all, for entry or exit, for a traveller carrying opioid or ADHD-stimulant medicines across its border. The only enforcement-adjacent regime found (Llei 2/2018) is a commercial import/export licence whose penalty provisions attach to smuggling convictions among licence-holders, not to a traveller's personal carriage. A traveller stopped with a controlled medicine has no published guidance on what happens next and should contact the Duana or Ministeri de Salut before travelling.
We could not find strong recent official guidance for this country. Contact the embassy or consulate directly before you travel.
By medication
Brand names first, generic in brackets. Each line resolves the drug class rule below, plus anything Andorra records specifically for that medication.
- Vyvanse (lisdexamfetamine)Unclear
No Andorran source found says anything to a traveller entering Andorra with a personal ADHD-stimulant supply; the customs page that names medicines governs the exit leg into the EU, not entry. Andorra's Llei 2/2018 places psychotropic substances from the 1971 Convention under the same commercial-only import/export authorisation regime as narcotics — any sensitive-goods operation needs a specific licence, applied for by holders of a trade registration, and Art 3 brings any movement above the Annex 1 limits within the regime regardless of purpose. No quantity limit, permit process or document list is published for methylphenidate, dexamfetamine, mixed-amphetamine-salts or lisdexamfetamine, individually or as a class. Carry the original prescription and original packaging, and contact the Duana or Ministeri de Salut directly.
- Ritalin, Concerta (methylphenidate)Unclear
The same rule as Vyvanse above.
- Dexamphetamine (dexamfetamine)Unclear
The same rule as Vyvanse above.
- Strattera (atomoxetine)Prescription
Atomoxetine, guanfacine and viloxazine are not internationally controlled; carry a prescription and keep in original packaging.
- Adderall (mixed amphetamine salts)Unclear
The same rule as Vyvanse above.
- Intuniv (guanfacine)Prescription
The same rule as Strattera above.
- Qelbree (viloxazine)Prescription
The same rule as Strattera above.

Leaving Andorra
Andorra publishes a different rule for taking these medicines out than for bringing them in. Only the differences are below. Anything not listed here is the same as the rule above.
Narcotic (opioids)
Andorra's Ministry of Foreign Affairs advises residents travelling abroad to carry all medicines, especially prescription medicines, in hand luggage in their original labelled containers, to keep the prescribing doctor's name/contact and treatment details, and states that travelling with psychotropic medicines or narcotics is subject to international control and cannot circulate freely abroad — the traveller must check the destination country's own documentation requirements. This is general advice to Andorran residents leaving Andorra, not a stated Andorran entry requirement.
Psychotropic (ADHD stimulants, benzodiazepines, sleep)
Same MFA advice as the narcotic class — Andorra's Ministry of Foreign Affairs groups 'medicaments psicotròpics o estupefaents' (psychotropic medicines or narcotics) together in identical wording, with no separate treatment for stimulants.
Responsible authority
