JordanTravelling with ADHD medication: rules, permits and documents
Asia (Middle East)Last checked 20 Jul 2026Medium confidenceHow we rate a record
Jordan treats these medications differently. Of the 7 we track, 4 need approval before you arrive and 3 need only your prescription.
Serious penalties: A JFDA personal-use import authorization is required for both narcotics and psychotropics, on top of prescription and a home-authority-endorsed certificate.
By medication
Brand names first, generic in brackets. Each line resolves the drug class rule below, plus anything Jordan records specifically for that medication.
- Vyvanse (lisdexamfetamine)Permit requiredmax 180 days' supply
Jordan's 2025 submission to the INCB clears up the prior 'unclear' status. All three ADHD stimulant classes need prior written authorization from the JFDA's Drug Directorate before you enter or exit Jordan with the medicine. A foreign prescription alone is not enough.
- Ritalin, Concerta (methylphenidate)Permit requiredmax 180 days' supply
The same rule as Vyvanse above.
- Dexamphetamine (dexamfetamine)Permit requiredmax 180 days' supply
The same rule as Vyvanse above.
- Strattera (atomoxetine)Prescription
Atomoxetine (Strattera), guanfacine ER (Intuniv) and viloxazine (Qelbree) are not internationally scheduled under the 1971 Convention, so they fall outside the INCB controlled-substance travel rules. Carry them with a normal prescription in original packaging; no import permit is required unless a specific national exception applies.
- Adderall (mixed amphetamine salts)Permit requiredmax 180 days' supply
The same rule as Vyvanse above.
- Intuniv (guanfacine)Prescription
The same rule as Strattera above.
- Qelbree (viloxazine)Prescription
