Lisdexamfetamine (Vyvanse) is not named in Jordan's law (JFDA Tables 1 to 11 under Law No. 23 of 2016, updated 15 May 2025, pages 1 to 30), so no rule for it is published. Ask the authority listed here before you travel.

Jordan's 2025 submission to the INCB clears up the prior 'unclear' status. All three ADHD stimulant classes need prior written authorization from the JFDA's Drug Directorate before you enter or exit Jordan with the medicine. A foreign prescription alone is not enough.

Carry them with a normal prescription in original packaging; no import permit is required unless a specific national exception applies.

Permit: Required. Obtain the JFDA/Drug Directorate authorization to carry the medicines on entry/exit.

Psychotropic (ADHD stimulants, benzodiazepines, sleep)

Permit required

Quantity: 180 days. Up to 6 months' personal supply, capped at the amount set in the International Passenger Authority manual, with prior JFDA authorization required regardless of quantity.
Permit: Required. Not published by the JFDA. No official document gives a minimum number of days or weeks to apply before travel.

Not internationally controlled

Prescription

Atomoxetine (Strattera), guanfacine ER (Intuniv) and viloxazine (Qelbree) are not internationally scheduled under the 1971 Convention, so they fall outside the INCB controlled-substance travel rules. Carry them with a normal prescription in original packaging; no import permit is required unless a specific national exception applies.

Connecting through Jordan

Jordan has published nothing for passengers who only change planes. Jordan's drug law counts transit as transport of the medicine, and transport needs the same written authorisation as bringing it into Jordan (Law No. 23 of 2016, articles 2 and 3). Ask the Jordan Food and Drug Administration before you book a connection through Jordan with this medicine.
