Brand names first, generic in brackets. Each line resolves the drug class rule below, plus anything Lithuania records specifically for that medication.

• Vyvanse (lisdexamfetamine)Restrictedmax 15 days' supply

  Lithuania is in the Schengen Area. Methylphenidate and lisdexamfetamine are List II substances. If you arrive from a country outside Schengen, the law lets you carry up to 15 days' supply for your own treatment, on condition that you have copies or transcripts of the prescriptions with you (Law on Control of Narcotic and Psychotropic Substances, art 20(2)). If you arrive from another Schengen country, the law allows up to 30 days' supply only if you carry a certificate in the set form issued by the competent authority of the country where you live (art 20(1)). The law does not offer the prescription route for arrivals from a Schengen country. The law does not say what a resident of a country outside Schengen does when their flight reaches Lithuania through another Schengen country: they cannot get that certificate. If your route to Lithuania connects through another Schengen country, ask the State Medicines Control Agency before you book. Lithuania's 2016 entry with the International Narcotics Control Board puts it more simply: 15 days without a Schengen certificate, 30 days with one, with a valid prescription. Amfetamine and dexamfetamine, and so mixed amphetamine salts, are List I substances with no traveller route.

• Dexedrine (dexamfetamine)Banned

  Banned for travellers. Lithuania puts dexamfetamine in List I of its narcotic and psychotropic substance lists (Health Minister Order No 5): substances prohibited for medical use except within a medicinal product registered in Lithuania or the EU, which only licensed companies may import or carry (Law on Control of Narcotic and Psychotropic Substances, arts 8(1) and 8(2)). The traveller allowance in article 20 covers Lists II and III only. There is no permit or exemption a traveller can apply for.

• Strattera (atomoxetine)Prescription

  Atomoxetine (Strattera), guanfacine ER (Intuniv) and viloxazine (Qelbree) are not on Lithuania's lists of narcotic and psychotropic substances, so the ordinary rules for personal medicines apply (Health Minister Order V-975). Arriving from outside the European Union, you may bring up to 10 packs of medicines in total at one time, once in a calendar month, without any document. To bring more, you need a doctor's certificate and may bring only the quantity it states, for no more than 6 months of treatment. The certificate must be on the letterhead of the clinic where your treating doctor works and be signed. It must give the clinic's name and address, your name, your passport or identity document number, the doctor's name, the medicine's name, form and strength, the number of doses or the pack size and number of packs, how long and how often you take it, the date of issue and how long it is valid. It must be valid for at least the length of your trip and no more than 6 months from issue. Customs can ask to see it. Arriving from another EU country, you may bring the quantity you need for yourself, and may be asked for a prescription or doctor's certificate showing the quantity.

• Adderall (mixed amphetamine salts)Banned

  Banned for travellers. Lithuania puts amfetamine and dexamfetamine in List I of its narcotic and psychotropic substance lists (Health Minister Order No 5): substances prohibited for medical use except within a medicinal product registered in Lithuania or the EU, which only licensed companies may import or carry (Law on Control of Narcotic and Psychotropic Substances, arts 8(1) and 8(2)). The lists apply the same control to their salts and isomers, which covers mixed amphetamine salts. The traveller allowance in article 20 covers Lists II and III only. There is no permit or exemption a traveller can apply for.
