Every medication we track comes into Norway on a doctor's certificate, and the certificate covers 30 days' supply.

Brand names first, generic in brackets. Each line resolves the drug class rule below, plus anything Norway records specifically for that medication.

Vyvanse (lisdexamfetamine)Restrictedmax 30 days' supply
You must be able to show that a doctor prescribed the medicine for your own medical use, and the dosage, for example with a copy of the prescription, a letter from your doctor or the pharmacy label. On arrival at entry points with red and green zones, use the red 'goods to declare' zone and have the documents ready. Travellers who do not live in Norway may bring up to 30 days' use at the prescribed dose. For stays over 30 days, apply to the Norwegian Medical Products Agency before travel, through its electronic form portal or by post (not by email). Any permit is sent by post, so apply well ahead. Residents of Schengen countries travelling within Schengen may use a Schengen certificate instead; this is not available to Australian residents. The agency recommends keeping medicines in their original containers.

Atomoxetine, guanfacine ER and viloxazine are not on Norway's narcotics list. Arriving from outside the EEA, you may bring up to three months' use of each medicine for your own use. You must be able to show at the border that the medicine is for your personal use and was lawfully obtained, for example with a prescription, a medical certificate or the pharmacy label on the pack. The Norwegian Medical Products Agency recommends keeping medicines in their original packaging.

Narcotic (opioids)

Restricted

Quantity: 30 days. Non-residents up to 30 days; residents limited to 1 week on foreign documentation
Permit: Not required up to 30 days' supply. Above that, it is. No permit up to 30 days; above that apply (by post, GDPR) well in advance.
Documents: prescription, medical certificate

Psychotropic (ADHD stimulants, benzodiazepines, sleep)

Restricted

Quantity: 30 days. Maximum 30 days supply for non-Norwegian residents (per the prescriber's dosage); more requires prior permission
Permit: Not required up to 30 days' supply. Above that, it is. No permit up to 30 days for non-residents. Above that, apply to the Norwegian Medical Products Agency before travel, through its electronic form portal or by post (not by email, because of GDPR). Any permit is sent by post, so apply well ahead; no processing time is published.
Documents: One of: Prescription, Doctor's letter or Pharmacy label
It must show that a doctor prescribed the medicine for your own use, and the dosage (narcotics regulation, section 19).
Prescription: A copy is enough.

Not internationally controlled

Restricted

Quantity: 90 days. Up to three months' use of each medicine when you arrive from outside the EEA (up to one year when arriving from an EEA country).
