Oman treats these medications differently. Of the 7 we track, 6 come in on paperwork with a supply cap and 1 has no published rule we could find.

Serious penalties: Oman controls codeine, tramadol and similar medicines strictly, and drug offences carry severe penalties; travellers have been detained over controlled medicines. Confirm specific substances with the MOH Drug Control Department, and expect a prior-approval step for controlled medicines.

Vyvanse (lisdexamfetamine)Not named: Unclear
Lisdexamfetamine (Vyvanse) is not named in Oman's law (Royal Decree 67/2026, Groups 1 and 2 schedules, Official Gazette 1664 pages 32 to 80), so no rule for it is published. Ask the authority listed here before you travel.
Ritalin, Concerta (methylphenidate)Restrictedmax 30 days' supply
Amphetamine, dexamfetamine and methylphenidate are controlled psychotropic medicines in Oman. Ministry of Health guidance asks travellers for a detailed, certified medical report from the health institution treating you, or a prescription in your name, issued within the last six months. Oman's 2016 entry in the INCB travellers' table lists both, so carry both. The report should give your personal details, the diagnosis, the medicine's scientific name and dose, and the treatment plan and its length. The prescription should give the scientific name, form and dose, the length of treatment and the medical institution's stamp. Also have a copy of your passport, the address where you are staying and a contact number. The ministry approves the release of one month's supply at most, or enough for the length of your stay if that is shorter, even if you carry more. Anything above that is destroyed.

Strattera (atomoxetine)Restrictedmax 90 days' supply
Atomoxetine, guanfacine ER and viloxazine are not on Oman's controlled lists. Ministry of Health guidance says medicines without controlled substances need a medical report explaining the treatment, and the quantity must not exceed three months. We suggest also carrying your prescription and keeping the medicine in its original packaging.

Rules by drug class

Narcotic (opioids)

Prescription

Quantity: 30 days. 30 days' supply for both narcotic and psychotropic classes
Permit: Not required. Documentation-based on the INCB table, but Oman references a separate personal-use import guidance and in practice requires MOH approval for controlled substances. Confirm before travel.

Psychotropic (ADHD stimulants, benzodiazepines, sleep)

Restricted

Quantity: 30 days. Up to one month's supply, or enough for the length of your stay if that is shorter. Anything more is not released and is destroyed. The medical report or prescription must have been issued within the last six months.
Permit: Not required. No advance application is published. The Ministry of Health approves release of the medicine on the documents presented: a medical report or a prescription issued within the last 6 months, plus a copy of your passport and your contact details. It releases no more than one month's supply or the length of your stay, whichever is less, and any excess is destroyed. The guidance does not say whether this approval happens before travel or at the border, so contact the Directorate General of Pharmaceutical Affairs and Drug Control before you fly.
