Somalia treats these medications differently. Of the 7 we track, 4 have no published rule we could find and 3 need only your prescription.
Serious penalties: Somalia's Ministry of Commerce & Industry lists narcotic drugs and controlled substances ('Maandooriyeyaasha iyo walxaha la xakameeyo') as prohibited imports and exports with no medical exception, while the NMRA separately says it regulates the importation of the same substances for medical and scientific purposes; no source reconciles the two or states any exemption for a travelling patient's own prescribed opioid or ADHD-stimulant medication, so carrying it risks treatment as a prohibited import at the border.

- Not published. The Ministry of Commerce & Industry's prohibited-goods list bans import and export of narcotic drugs and controlled substances outright, with no medical exception stated, while the NMRA separately says it regulates the importation of narcotics and psychotropic drugs for medical and scientific purposes. This is an unresolved conflict between two official Somali bodies, not a resolved rule. No permit process, form, fee or lead time is published by either body for a travelling patient.
Psychotropic (ADHD stimulants, benzodiazepines, sleep)

Leaving Somalia
Somalia publishes a different rule for taking these medicines out than for bringing them in. Only the differences are below. Anything not listed here is the same as the rule above.
Narcotic (opioids)
The Ministry of Commerce & Industry's prohibited-goods list applies in both directions: narcotic drugs and controlled substances are prohibited 'in la soo dejiyo ama la dhoofiyo' (from being imported or exported). No medical exception and no traveller exemption is stated for either leg, so a traveller leaving Somalia with their own prescribed supply is in the same unresolved position as one arriving. Recorded as an outbound claim with its own provenance rather than inherited from the inbound rule.
Psychotropic (ADHD stimulants, benzodiazepines, sleep)
