Syria treats these medications differently. Of the 7 we track, 4 have no published rule we could find and 3 need only your prescription.
Serious penalties: Syria applies severe penalties for drug offences, and trafficking is capital-eligible. A 2025 traveller regulation was submitted to the INCB but its published file is currently a broken link, so no values could be read. Obtain explicit prior authorization and confirm with the Syrian Ministry of Health before travel.

Syria publishes no rules for travellers carrying controlled medicine. Its health ministry website is live and current but its entire pharmaceutical and legislation section was removed when the site was rebuilt, so there is no national list of controlled substances online. Syria did file traveller rules with the International Narcotics Control Board in 2025, but every copy of that filing is unretrievable, including from web archives. Write to the Syrian embassy before you travel and do not rely on anything you read elsewhere.
