A cabin with no lift, no corridor and no shared walls

Booked for what it did not have rather than what it offered. No shared walls meant no unpredictable noise, and the kitchen meant familiar food on the days that needed it. Ten minutes from anything, which was the trade.

If you only read this bit

Worked
No shared walls, a kitchen, and nobody else on the approach
Did not work
Ten minutes by car from anything, including a pharmacy
Ask for
The distance to the nearest pharmacy before you book

The listing had no accessibility features at all, which is exactly why it worked. A standalone cabin has no corridor, no lift and no neighbours through the wall, and unpredictable noise is the thing that actually ends a day.

The trade is real and worth naming. Everything is a drive, and that includes the pharmacy, which matters more than it sounds when you are carrying a controlled medication and something goes missing.

Access details, as at Jan 2026

Noise: standalone building, nearest neighbour out of earshot.

Kitchen: full kitchen, which made familiar food possible every day.

Distance: ten minutes by car to the town, including the nearest pharmacy.

What we would do differently: check where the nearest pharmacy is and what its hours are before booking somewhere remote, not after.
