The rules for Concerta (methylphenidate (extended release))

Listed as a Schedule II psychotropic, which the UAE allows travellers to bring in. You need a prescription and a medical report, both stamped by the clinic or hospital treating you. Pre-approval is available online but is optional for travellers.

Maximum supply: 90 days (Enough for your stay, up to a maximum of three months, whichever is shorter.)

What to do

  1. valid prescription (issued within 3 months, stamped)
  2. doctor's certificate / medical report (issued within 1 year, stamped)
  3. Emirates Drug Establishment (EDE, formerly MOHAP) import permit before travel (for methylphenidate/atomoxetine)
  4. declaration at customs on arrival
