Poland treats these medications differently. Of the 7 we track, 4 need approval before you arrive and 3 come in on paperwork with a supply cap.

Serious penalties: A separate government document is required for each product. Apply to the Chief Pharmaceutical Inspector no later than 15 days before you cross the Polish border. Plan ahead.

Brand names first, generic in brackets. Each line resolves the drug class rule below, plus anything Poland records specifically for that medication.

  • Vyvanse (lisdexamfetamine)Permit requiredmax 30 days' supply

    Lisdexamfetamine has been a group II-P psychotropic in Poland since May 2025 (Dz.U. 2025 poz. 598). Arriving from outside the Schengen area, you need, as for the other stimulants, the Chief Pharmaceutical Inspector's document for own-use import (Act on Counteracting Drug Addiction, Art. 37(10), page 18; Regulation of 2026 on permits and documents, § 6). Inside Poland, Elvanse moved to the Rpw prescription category in June 2025. (max 30 days' supply)

  • Ritalin, Concerta (methylphenidate)Permit requiredmax 30 days' supply

    Methylphenidate is a group II-P psychotropic in Poland. Arriving from outside the Schengen area, you need the Chief Pharmaceutical Inspector's document for own-use import (Act on Counteracting Drug Addiction, Art. 37(10), page 18; Regulation of 2026 on permits and documents, § 6). Inside Poland, Medikinet and Concerta are dispensed on a special narcotic prescription, and supply shortages are common. (max 30 days' supply)

  • Dexedrine (dexamfetamine)Permit requiredmax 30 days' supply

    Carry a valid prescription and present the original at customs. For personal import/export of narcotic and psychotropic medicines, documents permitting the import/export must be issued by the Chief Pharmaceutical Inspector; within Schengen a certificate is used. Supply is limited to about 30 days. See the Chief Pharmaceutical Inspectorate website for the exact procedure.

  • Strattera (atomoxetine)Restricted

    Atomoxetine, guanfacine and viloxazine are not controlled medicines in Poland. You may bring up to five of the smallest packs of each medicine for your own treatment without any permit (Pharmaceutical Law, article 68(5), page 95). More than that needs consent from Poland's medicines office (the Office for Registration of Medicinal Products). This applies to medicine you carry with you; medicine sent by post or courier is not allowed. Polish law does not ask for a prescription at the border. We suggest carrying yours anyway.

  • Adderall (mixed amphetamine salts)Permit requiredmax 30 days' supply

Arriving from outside the Schengen area, you need a document issued by the Chief Pharmaceutical Inspector, applied for with your prescription or medical records. Apply no later than 15 days before you cross the Polish border. The document is valid for up to 30 days, and one is needed for each product (Regulation of 2026 on permits and documents, § 6(2), page 4, in force 12 July 2026). It covers only the amount matching your daily dose for the length of the trip.
