The rules for Ritalin (methylphenidate)
Methylphenidate is a group II-P psychotropic in Poland. Arriving from outside the Schengen area, you need the Chief Pharmaceutical Inspector's document for own-use import (Act on Counteracting Drug Addiction, Art. 37(10), page 18; Regulation of 2026 on permits and documents, § 6). Inside Poland, Medikinet and Concerta are dispensed on a special narcotic prescription, and supply shortages are common.
Maximum supply: 30 days (Blanket ~30-day supply limit for narcotic/psychotropic medicines)
What to do
- valid prescription
- presentation of original prescription at customs
- import/export permit for narcotic/psychotropic medicines issued by the Chief Pharmaceutical Inspector (for non-Schengen travel)
