The rules for Concerta (methylphenidate (extended release))
Ritalin/Concerta are Grupo II psychotropics under Article 245 of the Ley General de Salud, requiring a special barcoded prescription (receta especial con código de barras) from a federally registered physician at every dispensing; widely available domestically.

- original prescription presented at customs (X)
- for medicines needing authorization: the original COFEPRIS authorization presented together with the prescription
- medication in original packaging
