Can I take Dexamphetamine to Qatar?

Dexamfetamine and the mixed amphetamine salts in Adderall are on Qatar's Allowed Narcotic List, not the Allowed Psychotropic List, so they take the 10 day narcotic allowance rather than the 60 days Qatar gives psychotropic medicines. A permit from the Department of Pharmacy and Drug Control, Ministry of Public Health, is required. It is applied for through the Controlled Medicines System at fli.moph.gov.qa, live since 5 August 2026. You register with your passport number, no Qatar ID needed, and upload your prescription and a medical report (English or Arabic, issued within the last six months, on the treating facility's letterhead and stamp, naming you, the medicine, dose, form and treatment duration, and the prescriber's contact number), a passport copy, photos of the medication, and a signed undertaking that the medicine is for your own use. Applications are decided within three working days, and the ministry advises applying at least five working days before travel. An approved permit is valid for 90 days from approval and must be printed and carried with the original prescription and medical report. Choose the arriving to Qatar branch of the application. The departing from Qatar branch asks for a Hamad Medical Corporation doctor's name or a Qatar licensed practitioner's licence number, which a visitor carrying a home country prescription does not have. Qatar has not published a fee for the permit. Without a permit you must declare the medicine on arrival and produce the originals, and the ministry states it can still refuse entry to a medicine that does not meet its approval criteria.

Maximum supply: 10 days (Ten days' supply. The Controlled Medicines System allows a maximum quantity sufficient for 10 days of prescribed narcotic medication, and dexamfetamine and amfetamine are printed on Qatar's narcotic list. An older ministry PDF from 2022 gave 30 days, and gave patients leaving Qatar three months. Those figures conflict with the current system, which does not restate them, so they are recorded as superseded or unresolved rather than relied on.)
