Vyvanse (lisdexamfetamine)Permit requiredmax 90 days' supply
Carry a valid prescription and a doctor's certificate and obtain the AEMPS traveller permit before travel. AEMPS allows up to three months of treatment for travellers coming to Spain; its 30-day limit applies to people leaving Spain. Spain's 2017 entry with the International Narcotics Control Board gives 30 days for psychotropic medicines. We show the agency's three months because its page is the regulator's own and was last updated in August 2026.

Strattera (atomoxetine)Restrictedmax 90 days' supply
Atomoxetine, guanfacine and viloxazine are not controlled medicines in Spain, so no permit is needed. You may be asked to show your prescription or a medical report when you enter or leave Spain. Carry no more than you need for three months of treatment. Spain's medicines agency says larger amounts are accepted only in exceptional cases and if duly justified.
Adderall (mixed amphetamine salts)Permit requiredmax 90 days' supply
No mixed amphetamine salts product (Adderall and equivalents) holds a Spanish marketing authorisation; the AEMPS CIMA register returns no result for that composition. AEMPS's permit page covers any controlled narcotic or psychotropic medicine and does not ask that the product be authorised in Spain, so bring your own supply and apply for the permit as normal. Plan on not being able to refill or replace it locally: AEMPS caps the inbound permit at three months and says that after that the medicine must be obtained through Spanish legal channels, which for an unauthorised product means the foreign-medicine (medicamentos extranjeros) route via your autonomous community's contact point.

Rules by drug class

Narcotic (opioids)

Permit required

Quantity: 90 days. AEMPS's certificate procedure page: requests to enter Spain are capped at three months of treatment (15 days for cannabis); requests to leave Spain at 30 days even if the trip is longer. The same split applies to narcotics and psychotropics; the 2017 INCB table's 30-day figure is the outbound number.
Permit: Required. Apply at least 10 days ahead. AEMPS: travellers entering Spain must request a permit from its Área de Estupefacientes y Psicótropos (estupefacientes_viajeros@aemps.es) authorising the transport of these medicines; 'los certificados/permisos de viaje requieren un mínimo de diez días para ser procesados'. Send as PDFs: the completed and signed application form, a stamped medical certificate (doctor's name, licence number, address, diagnosis, dosage), the original signed prescription, a passport copy and a copy of the travel tickets.

Psychotropic (ADHD stimulants, benzodiazepines, sleep)

Permit required

Quantity: 90 days. Spain's medicines agency (AEMPS) says the most a traveller coming to Spain may bring is three months of treatment (15 days for cannabis).
