The rules for Ritalin (methylphenidate)
Classified as a psychotropic substance under Royal Decree 2829/1977 (Schedule IV, UN 1971 Convention); travelers need an AEMPS 'Permiso de Viajeros' (apply via estupefacientes@aemps.es, 10-15 days ahead, valid up to 3 months). Local brands: Concerta, Rubifen, Medikinet, Equasym, Ritalin.
Maximum supply: 90 days (AEMPS approves up to three months of treatment for entry, exceptionally more; the 30-day figure is the exit certificate. AEMPS Permiso de Viajeros permit valid up to 3 months)
What to do

- doctor's certificate endorsed by the health authorities of the country of residence
- 'Permiso de Viajeros' / health certificate for transport of controlled substances (obtained via the Spanish Embassy/Consulate in the country of origin, processed by AEMPS)
