Can I take Adderall to Spain?

Spain's official guidance indicates you need advance approval (a permit) before arriving with Adderall (mixed amphetamine salts). Review the requirements and apply in good time.

A limit of our data: Adderall (mixed amphetamine salts) and Dexamphetamine are different medicines. Adderall is a mix of dextroamphetamine and levoamphetamine; dexamfetamine is dextroamphetamine on its own, and international drug schedules list them as separate substances. We hold one combined amphetamine rule per country, so this page cannot tell you whether Spain treats them differently. The rules for Adderall (mixed amphetamine salts)

No mixed amphetamine salts product (Adderall and equivalents) holds a Spanish marketing authorisation; the AEMPS CIMA register returns no result for that composition. AEMPS's permit page covers any controlled narcotic or psychotropic medicine and does not ask that the product be authorised in Spain, so bring your own supply and apply for the permit as normal. Plan on not being able to refill or replace it locally: AEMPS caps the inbound permit at three months and says that after that the medicine must be obtained through Spanish legal channels, which for an unauthorised product means the foreign-medicine (medicamentos extranjeros) route via your autonomous community's contact point.

Maximum supply: 90 days (AEMPS approves up to three months of treatment for entry, exceptionally more; the 30-day figure is the exit certificate. )

  3. 'Permiso de Viajeros' / health certificate for transport of controlled substances (obtained via the Spanish Embassy/Consulate in the country of origin, processed by AEMPS)
