Can I take Adderall to Spain?
Spain's official guidance indicates you need advance approval (a permit) before arriving with Adderall. Review the requirements and apply in good time.

A limit of our data: Adderall (mixed amphetamine salts) and Dexamphetamine are different medicines. Adderall is a mix of dextroamphetamine and levoamphetamine; dexamfetamine is dextroamphetamine on its own, and international drug schedules list them as separate substances. We hold one combined amphetamine rule per country, so this page cannot tell you whether Spain treats them differently. Give the authority the exact product and generic name on your prescription when you check. The answer here is the same as for Dexamphetamine in Spain.
The rules for Adderall (mixed amphetamine salts)
Neither AEMPS's current traveller guidance page nor Spain's 2017 INCB submission lists any prohibited substance. Both describe a general personal-use permit process for 'medicines containing internationally controlled substances.' The earlier 'banned' status seems to have confused amphetamine/dextroamphetamine not being sold in Spain with it being unimportable for personal use. No official source confirms an outright ban. An Australian visitor would use the same AEMPS advance-permit process used for the other two medications. This is not confirmed by name in any official source, so it's inferred from the fact that no exclusion is listed. Adderall (mixed amphetamine salts) never received EMA or Spanish marketing authorisation and is not available in Spain. No import permit will be issued for it, so travellers must switch medications or bring only a personal trip supply.
Maximum supply: 90 days (AEMPS approves up to three months of treatment for entry, exceptionally more; the 30-day figure is the exit certificate. )
What to do
- valid prescription
- doctor's certificate endorsed by the health authorities of the country of residence
- 'Permiso de Viajeros' / health certificate for transport of controlled substances (obtained via the Spanish Embassy/Consulate in the country of origin, processed by AEMPS)
Confirm this yourself: This is based on official guidance we could not confirm against a current national source. Check with Spanish Agency for Medicines and Health Products (AEMPS) or Spain's embassy before you travel.
