Can I take Concerta to Sri Lanka?
Sri Lanka's official guidance indicates you need advance approval (a permit) before arriving with Concerta (methylphenidate). Review the requirements and apply in good time.

The rules for Concerta (methylphenidate (extended release))
Since Act No. 41 of 2022 these are Group B dangerous drugs. Possessing them outside the Chapter V route (Sri Lankan prescribers) needs a licence of the Director of Health Services (Ordinance section 52(1)); the 2014 INCB entry says personal-use licences are issued case by case and names the NDDCB as the contact. NMRA's own allowance is the quantity for your stay or 90 days, whichever is less, without NMRA approval; more needs NMRA's prior approval. Ask NMRA (info@nmra.gov.lk, pa5@nmra.gov.lk), the NDDCB and the Director of Health Services in writing before you travel.
Maximum supply: 90 days (Sri Lanka's medicines regulator, NMRA, lets a traveller carry the quantity needed for the stay or for 90 days, whichever is less, without NMRA approval (Medicines Regulations, regulation 64(a)). More than 90 days' supply needs NMRA's prior approval. Sri Lanka's entry on the International Narcotics Control Board's travellers list says the most you may bring is the quantity on a prescription from a consultant medical practitioner. The dangerous drugs licence is needed whatever the quantity. The 90 days does not apply to a medicine in Schedule III of the regulations, and the Order that says which medicines are in Schedule III is not published anywhere we can point you to. If these medicines are in Schedule III, NMRA's approval is needed for any amount.)
What to do
- valid prescription
- licence of the Director of Health Services to possess a Group B dangerous drug (Ordinance section 52(1)); ask NMRA and the NDDCB how to apply
