The rules for Dexamphetamine (dexamfetamine)

Fiji publishes a traveller exemption in law. Section 11(1)(a) of the Illicit Drugs Control Act 2004 says a person undergoing treatment of a medical condition, who is entering, leaving or transiting through Fiji, may possess quantities of an illicit drug lawfully prescribed or supplied to them for treating that condition for a period of not more than one month. Amphetamine and dexamphetamine are both listed in Part 5 of the Act's Schedule 1, so the exemption is the provision that covers them. The Fiji Medicines Regulatory Authority's Guidelines for Import of Medicinal Products into Fiji, dated 20 May 2025, ask a traveller only to provide evidence at the border that the medicine was legally prescribed and supplied: an original or certified copy of the prescription, or an original or certified copy of a signed letter from the prescriber with their contact details, or labelling on the product identifying the patient, prescriber and supplier. One conflict in the published material is unresolved and stays visible: an earlier clause of the same Guidelines says medicinal products included in Schedule 1 of the Illicit Drugs Control Act also require a separate import permit issued by the Fiji MRA, and another says Schedule 8 dangerous drugs may only be imported by the Chief Pharmacist, and neither clause is reconciled with the traveller section. Fiji MRA (FijiMRA@health.gov.fj, phone 8921665) can confirm whether a permit is expected. No permit fee or processing time is published.

Maximum supply: 30 days (One month, from the section 11(1)(a) personal-treatment exemption in the Illicit Drugs Control Act 2004. The Act states a duration rather than a day count, and it applies to entering, leaving and transiting Fiji alike.)
