The rules for Vyvanse (lisdexamfetamine)

Lisdexamfetamine was not found by name in Schedule 1 of Fiji's Illicit Drugs Control Act 2004, which does list amphetamine, dexamphetamine and methylphenidate. That is the result of a full text search rather than a statement by Fiji that the medicine is outside the Act, and lisdexamfetamine is a prodrug of dexamfetamine, so its position is not settled. Either way the border requirement is the same: the Fiji Medicines Regulatory Authority's Guidelines for Import of Medicinal Products into Fiji, dated 20 May 2025, say a person entering, leaving or transiting Fiji with a medicinal product for their own use must provide evidence at the border that it was legally prescribed and supplied, in the form of an original or certified prescription, a signed prescriber's letter with contact details, or labelling identifying the patient, prescriber and supplier. If lisdexamfetamine is treated as a Schedule 1 substance, the one month limit in section 11(1)(a) of the Act applies to it, and so does the unresolved clause elsewhere in the same Guidelines requiring a separate Fiji MRA import permit for Schedule 1 products. Fiji MRA (FijiMRA@health.gov.fj, phone 8921665) can confirm the classification and whether a permit is expected.

Maximum supply: 30 days (One month is recorded here as the cautious ceiling: it is the only published quantity figure, from section 11(1)(a) of the Illicit Drugs Control Act 2004, and lisdexamfetamine's place in the Act's Schedule 1 was not confirmed either way.)

What to do

  1. valid prescription
  2. doctor's letter/certificate
  3. medication in original packaging with prescription label visible

Confirm this yourself: This is based on official guidance we could not confirm against a current national source. Check with Fiji Medicines Regulatory Authority (Fiji MRA), Ministry of Health and Medical Services or Fiji's embassy before you travel.
