Fiji treats these medications differently. Of the 7 we track, 4 come in on paperwork with a supply cap and 3 need only your prescription.
Serious penalties: Carrying a Schedule 1 substance (nearly every opioid and stimulant in this research) without evidence of a valid prescription, or beyond the one-month personal-treatment exemption, is a criminal offence under the Illicit Drugs Control Act 2004, the same Act that covers heroin and cocaine.

Psychotropic (ADHD stimulants, benzodiazepines, sleep)
Restricted- Quantity
- 30 days. The source states the same rule as the narcotic class (30 days). Same s11(1)(a) one-month exemption as narcotic class; methylphenidate, dexamfetamine and amphetamine are on the same Schedule 1.
- Permit
- Not required. No permit is needed for up to one month's supply. The Illicit Drugs Control Act 2004 exempts a traveller carrying medicine lawfully prescribed or supplied to them for treatment for not more than one month (s 11(1)(a), page 6). Fiji does not say whether a traveller can get a permit to bring more than one month's supply.

Not internationally controlled
PrescriptionAtomoxetine, guanfacine and viloxazine are not internationally controlled; treat as normal prescription medicines. Carry prescription and original packaging.
Connecting through Fiji
Fiji's Illicit Drugs Control Act 2004 (s 11(1)(a), page 6) and the Fiji MRA's 2025 import guidelines (s 8) apply the same rule to a person transiting through Fiji as to one entering: you may carry up to one month's supply lawfully prescribed or supplied to you, and must be able to show at the border that it was. Evidence can be an original or certified prescription, a signed letter from the prescriber with their contact details, or labelling naming you, the prescriber and the supplier. The law says 'transiting through' without separating airside from landside transit.
If you clear immigration: Clearing immigration means entering Fiji, and the same one-month rule and evidence of prescription apply.
