Can I take Vyvanse to Malaysia?

Official guidance indicates Vyvanse can usually be brought into Malaysia with a valid prescription and the right documents. Confirm the current requirements before you travel.

The rules for Vyvanse (lisdexamfetamine)

Allowed with a prescription, up to one month's supply. Verified against the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952 (Act 234) First Schedule in the current online reprint, read on 2026-08-01, which post-dates the 2021 and 2023 amendment orders. Lisdexamfetamine is not named in the First Schedule, and its extension clauses reach only isomers, esters, ethers and salts, whereas lisdexamfetamine is dexamfetamine joined to L-lysine by an amide bond. So it is not a Malaysian dangerous drug. Whether the Poisons (Psychotropic Substances) Regulations 1989 schedule names it could not be established, because that instrument is not indexed on the Laws of Malaysia portal. Either way the traveller's obligation is the same, since Malaysia has no personal-import permit: carry the prescription or an English doctor's letter, keep the medicine in its original packaging and declare it on arrival.
