Can I take Vyvanse to Thailand?

Thailand's official guidance indicates you need advance approval (a permit) before arriving with Vyvanse. Review the requirements and apply in good time.

The rules for Vyvanse (lisdexamfetamine)

Reclassified as a Category 2 narcotic effective 25 February 2025 (previously psychotropic). Requires an advance Thai FDA import permit (Form IC-2), applied for online at least 2 weeks before travel, about 3 working days processing, up to 90 days' supply. This is a real and recent reclassification. Vyvanse is not banned like Adderall, but it now needs an official government permit, not just a prescription.

Maximum supply: 90 days (Up to 90 days' supply WITH Thai FDA permit (Form IC-2), following Feb 2025 reclassification as Category 2 narcotic)

What to do

  1. valid prescription
  2. doctor's certificate
  3. presentation of original prescription at customs
  4. Thai FDA import permit: apply online on Form IC-1 at least 15 days before you arrive and you are issued Form IC-2, which you carry. Needed for lisdexamfetamine at any quantity, and for methylphenidate only if you carry more than 30 days' supply.
