A limit of our data: Adderall (mixed amphetamine salts) and Dexamphetamine are different medicines. Adderall is a mix of dextroamphetamine and levoamphetamine; dexamfetamine is dextroamphetamine on its own, and international drug schedules list them as separate substances. We hold one combined amphetamine rule per country, so this page cannot tell you whether Austria treats them differently. The rules for Adderall (mixed amphetamine salts)
Amphetamine and dexamphetamine are narcotics (Suchtgifte) in Austrian law, so SV § 24 governs them. Up to 30 days' supply. Up to 5 days' supply needs no proof of a prescription; from 5 to 30 days' supply, carry at least a copy of your prescription. There is no milligram cap. A certified certificate (Annex X for travellers from outside Schengen) is needed only if the prescription is not in Latin script and in German or English.

What to do
- copy of your prescription, if you carry more than 5 days' supply: it must show your name, your doctor's name, the medicine and the narcotic it contains with their quantities, and the dosage
- a certified certificate on the Annex X model, only if your prescription is not in Latin script and in German or English, or if you carry more than 2,000 mg of methylphenidate
