Can I take Adderall to Austria?

Official guidance indicates Adderall can usually be brought into Austria with a valid prescription and the right documents. Confirm the current requirements before you travel.

A limit of our data: Adderall (mixed amphetamine salts) and Dexamphetamine are different medicines. Adderall is a mix of dextroamphetamine and levoamphetamine; dexamfetamine is dextroamphetamine on its own, and international drug schedules list them as separate substances. The rules for Adderall (mixed amphetamine salts)

Austria's official English-language guidance applies the same entry rules to all travellers, with no separate rule for Schengen versus non-Schengen visitors: no documentation for stays of 5 days or less, a home-country doctor's prescription or letter for 5 to 30 days, and an Austrian prescription needed beyond 30 days. No permit is described. The only certificate mentioned, issued by 'the competent authority of the country of residence' per the INCB Austria table, is the Schengen Article 75 certificate. Australia has no authority able to issue this, and Austria's own guidance does not require it for inbound personal-use quantities. As an EU/Schengen state, Adderall and Dexedrine require a Schengen Certificate (Article 75) for trips up to 30 days within Schengen, certified by a district health authority based on a doctor's prescription.
