Can I take Adderall to France?

Official guidance indicates Adderall can usually be brought into France with a valid prescription and the right documents. Confirm the current requirements before you travel.

A limit of our data: Adderall (mixed amphetamine salts) and Dexamphetamine are different medicines. Adderall is a mix of dextroamphetamine and levoamphetamine; dexamfetamine is dextroamphetamine on its own, and international drug schedules list them as separate substances. The rules for Adderall (mixed amphetamine salts)

France's official INCB traveller table (submitted by ANSM, May 2024) lists only 'valid medical prescription' as a requirement; no certificate or permit box is marked. A permit is not required: that idea comes from the Schengen Article 75 regime, which does not apply to, and is not available to, an Australian resident. For a non-Schengen visitor, a prescription alone is what France's competent authority requires. An original prescription is mandatory at customs. Quantity is limited to the duration of the prescribed treatment, or 3 months without a prescription. Adderall is not marketed in France, but travellers may bring a personal supply with a prescription.
