Can I take Vyvanse to Vanuatu?

Official guidance indicates Vyvanse can usually be brought into Vanuatu with a valid prescription and the right documents. Confirm the current requirements before you travel.

The rules for Vyvanse (lisdexamfetamine)

Lisdexamfetamine is treated under the same personal-use rule as Vanuatu's other prescribed stimulants. The Dangerous Drugs Act [CAP 12] prohibits the substances listed in section 2, and section 3 exempts a preparation carried into Vanuatu for personal use where it is of a reasonable amount, accompanied by a letter from the medical practitioner in the person's country of origin, and appropriately labelled with its correct name. No permit, application or approval step is described for a traveller; the section 7 import certificate is for a registered medical practitioner or pharmacist importing stock. Lisdexamfetamine is not named in the section 2 list, which was last varied in 2005, and the Act does not say whether the catch-all covering preparations that contain a listed substance reaches a prodrug of dexamfetamine, so a traveller carrying it meets the section 3 conditions in the same way as for the named stimulants. Vanuatu Customs requires prohibited or restricted goods such as medicines to be declared on arrival. The Ministry of Health Principal Pharmacist unit (+678 22512, +678 33081, Iatika Complex, PMB 9009, Port Vila) is the authority to confirm how lisdexamfetamine is treated.
