Can I take Adderall to Italy?

A limit of our data: Adderall (mixed amphetamine salts) and Dexamphetamine are different medicines. Adderall is a mix of dextroamphetamine and levoamphetamine; dexamfetamine is dextroamphetamine on its own, and international drug schedules list them as separate substances. We hold one combined amphetamine rule per country, so this page cannot tell you whether Italy treats them differently. The rules for Adderall (mixed amphetamine salts)

Entering Italy with psychotropic-substance medicines requires either a certificate from your home country's health authorities or Italy's own 'Annex 1' certificate (issued on the basis of a valid prescription, max 30-day supply, naming patient/prescriber/drug/duration) under the Decree of the Ministry of Health of 16 November 2007. If you carry only one package of the medicine, a plain prescription suffices and the certificate is not required.

Maximum supply: 30 days (30-day cap for narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances; home-country or Italian Annex 1 certificate required (plain prescription suffices if only one package carried))

What to do

  2. Schengen certificate (Annex I of the Decree of 16 November 2007) for travel between Schengen states. This is issued by your own country of residence and only covers travel between Schengen countries, so if you are flying in from Australia you cannot get one and do not need it.
